Saint-Laurent

National Center for Shipwrecks of the St. Lawrence
A must-see tourist attraction …

At the end of the winter of 1994, Mr. Marc Tremblay, an amateur diver, discovered artifacts in the icy waters of Bouleaux Cove, Baie-Trinité, to update the wreckage of the boat Elizabeth Mary who was part of the fleet of Admiral William Phips attacked the city of Quebec in 1690. This discovery proved to be the most important and richest both by the quality of preservation of artifacts as the amount of coins removed from the waters St. Lawrence.

With this in mind, in June 2004, the National St. Lawrence Shipwreck Center of Baie-Trinité was created, 95 km east of Baie-Comeau on the North Shore.
